SL 112/5 in 30 overs , still Jayasuriya in company of Mahroof managed to steal victory from the jaws of defeat.
3 Aug::
SL 95/6 in 26 overs, still Jayawardene and Chandana won the match for their country.
7 Aug::
WI 112/6 in 24 overs, Ramdin almost won it for WI, scoring at almost 6 per over from 112/6 is incredible.
So problem area remains to be 5th bowler; in all matches India held the edge till regular bowlers bowled, and the moment 5th bowler( Sehwag/Ganguly/Yuvraj/Raina) was pressed into action, momentum shifted drastically.
Well, still I think playing 3 seamers(that too all 3 left armers) is not a very good idea. How abt playing 2 seamers and 2 spinners and JP Yadav as allrounder.
My team for final.
1.Sehwag -- highly unreliable but can win the game single handedly on his day.
2. JP Yadav -- he has opened for Railways many times, so can be tried here.
3. Kaif -- he needs time to settle down, and can handle moving ball better.
4. Dravid -- From here he can bind the inning.
5. VenuGopal -- he is another sensible young lad, and knows how to apply himself rather than big-match-pressure getting better of him.
6. Yuvraj -- he can't be dropped but also can't be relied on (thats y Venu comes above him)
7. Dhoni -- he is DYNAMITE, he can't be kept quite, no matter on which position he comes.
8. Pathan
9. Harbhajan
10. Zaheer
11. Kumble
Raina 12th man.

Btw, Kasprowicz's hand was not touching the handle when ball brushed it.

another hugh prather in the makin, how bout bein albert camus for a day......
Man, I am missing out on watching these matches. Especially the Ashes. Somehow I felt the day before that Australia would win it one way or the other. They have a knack for doing that. I guess that makes the series more interesting.
Well the final is equally balanced, ur team looks good, we just need some consistency by players. Determination is the key. just go out and give the best and we would win the series after long.
The line between failure and success is so fine that we scarcely know when we pass it - so fine that we often are on the line and do not know it. -- ralph emerson

The same old story of indian cricket for last 5 years. No win in finals.I am extremely disappointed.

@Arunima:: there can't b enough of it. season has just started.
@shub:: Well, they bettered India's record of getting dismissed twice in a day, but shud b happy for Kiwis :-)
@Arun:: hmm..3rd test is going to b cracker, i heard that McGill has been recalled.
@Anonymous:: I'm hurt. 96 were required off 90 balls with 8 wickets in hand, still we lost. I'm badly hurt.
I luv Indian cricket.. cos I know what to expect from them.. ;)
this amazing consistency in finals seems to be something the team is really working on...irrespective of coaches !!
@Prasad:: :-)
@manuscrypts:: True, no coach can teach that with so diligence.
Cricket?!
No comments...except that the new rules are interesting! Lets see if they really improve the interest of the spectators. :)
