Salaam Namaste

hmm....now I'm in review mood.... :-)

well, after many initial hiccups and yes-nos, I managed to watch Salaam Namaste.
hmm, I was not too keen to watch it, but we just wanted to go out n watch "a movie", and by chance got tickets of Salaam Namaste.

I was not keen, bcoz of the promos airing on all channels; seems that producers spent a huge chunk of budget in promotions, Salaam Namaste has been all over media: print, TV, radio or Internet, and I never liked any of promos.
Seriously, promos were a big turn off, specially that one on TV 'Preity-Saif talking abt super-cool-movie'...and crap. bluudy dunno whom they were tryin to fool.

1) Still, I dunno why they named it Salaam Namaste, or y they named the radio station as Salaam Namaste.

2) Or they did it so coz the title score came out to be fabulous, TITLE song is the high point (I'm restraining myself from writing 'only') of the movie, loved the song , the feel, the location, the energy.

3) Saif is better suited as comedian not as main hero, and watching him doing it for long period of time makes him very very predictable.

4) And aren't we sick of watching 'chaddi-showing Saif' in pink t-shirts..(that too baby pink) and his weird hairdos, boss such hairstyles exist in movies only, in real life...NO........WAY.

5) Javed Jafri was a total waste, and highly irritating....eggzactly!!!!!

6) All 'Saif n Warsi scenes' were monotonous, highly predictable, and almost same.......; bluudy chemistry was NOT there between friends.

7) 'End' was again one of the most screwed up I've ever seen. Dunno wat 'small b' was trying to do.

Only thing appropriate was Priety's nickname in the movie.."Ambi".. she actually looked like good old heavy-duty Ambi (aka Ambassbor car).

*****
hmmm….now only one man can change the outcome of Ashes, and the name is Shane Warne.

Hmm, I saw it too, and I didn't think it was too bad. Here's why. If you agree with the Chopra package (the basic good music plus romance plus humor formula), then you will like it. What Aditya Chopra is doing is promoting film makers who take the basic ingredient, add a modern situation (eg. live in relationship) and present the candy floss intact.

Parth:: Well, I didn't like it,except title song music was ordinary; romance wasn't there, humour was too predictable.

Boo:: Hi Boo, I read all entries on ur blog and liked them too. Hope to see pic of 'Ashu' soon there. :-)

missnupur:: dunno abt the 'streets of Melbourne' but movie was much below average.

kay:: well, I admire the fighting spirit of Aussies, yetserday also just one lapse by Warney let the match slip from them.
I loved the flamboyant Kevin Pieterson.

I agree salam namaste is too bad.

Ashes goes to england and i guess shane warne almost got it for Australia except Mr. Pietersen who was dropped as well by warne on 15. But nevertheless a gr8 effort from Warne and Mcgrath. Dont writeoff Australia yet.

am watching it:-)

Please watch 'No entry' in the theatre. I had tears laughing. It's crap, It's junk... but it is damn funny.

I liked the movie...its like a one-watch film. The 2nd half is mostly taken from Nine Months (Hugh Grant and Julianne Moore), some scenes are really artificial and Priety Zinta doesnt look like an expectant mother at all! Otherwise I guess its ok...

Stone said...

@Anumita:: promise a review on blog :-)

@infinity:: there r many other more watchable movies yaaar..go for Iqbal or No entry...

@Anonymous/ Amit :-) :: hmm..I don't doubt their fighting spirit but once Warney n Piegon are gone, their bowling attack will become toothless, so they definitely needs some quality bowlers.

@Kiddo:: hahahaha, isn't it a nice name..kiddo :-)
well, i mentioned many reasons y i didn't like it, btw have u ever seen a pregnant lady with 'that-sort-of-round' tummy?? :-)

@manuscrypts:: pathbreaking. . literally ;-)

@Arunima:: hmmm..I'm sure u won't like it..hehehehe...., hmmm will try to catch 'No entry' this weekend.

@Mirage:: Yep, second half was heavily 'inspired' from Nine Months; hmm i didn't like it yaar, expectant mother doing 'moonwalk'......duhhh...!!!

Stone said...

@Handa:: watch Sehar, if its there on Kgp LAN.

@infinity:: true, timepass hi hai yaar woh.

@Sangeeta:: hmmm...:-)

@Viveka:: Cuteness bordering on the edge of 'irritation'? , Saif's comic timing is predictable!
